Jagua is natural plant-based product. It comes from the Genipa Fruit in South America, used by the indigenous people for food and body decoration for centuries.  There are no chemical dyes added.  This NOT related to black henna or PPD.

The gel is applied with a henna-type applicator, left on the skin for two hours, and then peeled off.  The color upon removal is extremely light gray (nearly invisible).  You may speed up the darkening process by running cold water over the stain after removing the dried gel. The following morning the color will be a light blue-gray and will develop into an indigo blue over the next 24 hours.  It may even appear black on some people.  The stains last for 1-2 weeks.

 Jagua gel does not need to be refrigerated (although it doesn’t seem to hurt to refrigerate the gel), but it needs to avoid contact with air as much as possible to avoid degradation.  It should be stored in tightly closed containers.

 In our trial run with this product, there were 2 incidences of allergic reactions amongst hundreds of clients.  The reaction consisted of a rash that went away without incidence.  Any cosmetic product is likely to produce allergic reactions in some people.  Since Jagua is a tropical fruit, we ask clients if they are allergic to any tropical fruits or if they have very sensitive skin.  It would be best to do a small test spot on these people before doing any full-size tattoos. 

 So you have an idea of how many tattoos you can do with your Jagua Gel, 1 oz is approximately equal to 30 ml.  A small tattoo typically requires 1 or 2 ml of gel.
